Sulemani hakik is banded — black through grey through white in fine parallel lines, which is what separates it from plain black stones. The charm on this version sits against that banding rather than on a flat colour, so the two patterns read against each other.
Known in India as sulemani hakik and worn here for generations, black agate is traditionally the stone for steadiness under pressure — associated with holding your nerve rather than avoiding the situation. Beads are hand-strung in India.
